A dedicated vocal & piano coach who arranges, improvises, and loves teaching at the Hamilton School of Music – Building Confidence Through Music.

Since the passing of her husband, Nick Blagona (The Tone Guru), of 30 years, MJ reconnected with former client and colleague Mark Daum: master instructor composer on guitar, bass, piano, and voice. Together they are developing Humble In’ Creative in their home studio in Caledonia, Ontario.

MJ was Ontario’s top medalist in levels V, VIII, IX Vocal Performance at Western Conservatory of Music before leaving high school. MJ studied classical voice (ARCT in Performance RCM), piano level 9, harmony (3), history (3), counterpoint, and composition for 20 years. She then spent 10 years in a touring rock band as a backing vocalist, managed indie artists and bands for 10 years, has recently been publicist for a UK tour and booking agent for a local Hamilton artist touring the eastern seaboard. MJ sang in the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for 10 years, has performed in musical theatre, acted in film and commercials and has been a recording session vocal arranger & performer. She has been a performing professional musician (Classical, Jazz, R&B, Folk, & Rock) for over forty years. MJ has been helping develop young talent and recording artists throughout her career.
