DEAR PARENTS,

We are monitoring Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC)’s recommendations regarding preventative measures we can all take to manage a potential outbreak of COVID-19, otherwise known as coronavirus.  We are tracking daily updates on the nature of this potential threat in our communities.

The PHAC has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada.  Public health risk is continually reassessed as new information becomes available.

Currently, there are no directives to limit large groups or cancel kids’ activities.

The Hamilton School of Music is implementing the following preventative measures to minimize any potential impact on our community and staff:

• Weekly full studio cleaning including disinfection of high traffic surfaces
• Daily disinfection of all digital keyboards and piano keys at end of teaching day
• Daily disinfection of all light switches, door handles and any other necessary lesson room surfaces at end of teaching day
• Implementing thorough hand washing for all staff and students prior to each lesson, when possible
• Providing hand sanitizer & implementing usage by staff and student before each class
• Disinfection of all classroom instruments after each use in Kindermusik and any other group music programming
• Laundering of all classroom props made of fabrics (such as scarves, towels, etc.) after each use in Kindermusik and any other music programming
